Positive parenthood

Supported by Estonian Union for Child Welfare, the purpose of the project was to find new joint family activities, increase the social skills of parents and children and make communication between them more effective through positive role models and theoretical examples. The project lasted from April 2009 to May 2009.

Goals
The purpose of the project was to promote open-mindedness among parents and give them an opportunity through formal and non-formal education acknowledge existing problems and search solutions for them, To help parents of young people overcome their prejudices of teachers and representatives of other related professions.   

Activities
The project included training sessions for parents, essay competition, a study and camp in Laagna. 4 groups were assembled who took part all activities during the project. Essay competition was open and participants were expected from all over Vaivara. A study was also conducted with 40 people. 20 parents registered for the training sessions and the camp.
